Gyford Productions is a Reno, Nevada based manufacturer of fine machined aluminum and stainless steel decorative mounting hardware called Gyford StandOff Systems®. Recycling makes sense both economically and ecologically, and has been an integral part of our manufacturing process since we began full production in 1991.
Today, aluminum is the most commonly recycled post consumer metal in the world. Approximately 40% of the aluminum supply in the United States comes from recycled aluminum and Gyford Productions is doing its part to keep the planet green. We use only U.S. processed aluminum, and our extrusions and raw blanks contain up to 75% recycled aluminum. The CNC machines used to manufacturer Gyford StandOff Systems® products are equipped to collect even the smallest aluminum particles for recycling. Damaged parts, QA rejects, solids and shavings are all recycled. Air filtration systems are utilized to protect our personnel and minimize pollutants entering the atmosphere.
Chemistry is an important part of the machining, cleaning and polishing performed in the manufacturing process. Gyford Productions is extremely selective in choosing only eco-friendly solvents, cutting oils (semi-synthetic and vegetable based cutting fluids) and polishes.
We collect, filter and reuse all of these materials. Any materials that cannot be reprocessed at our facility are sent to qualified chemical processors and recyclers to be refined and reused.
Through our continuous recycling initiatives, in June of 2010 we added a waste water evaporator.
This machine is engineered to safely and efficiently evaporate all water content from our facilities waste water, leaving only a small residue requiring disposal. This process reduces environmental impact and operational cost.
Packaging best practices are in place to minimize waste.
Newspapers and shredded office papers are used as packaging and filler materials. Cans are discarded in our lunchrooms and are collected and recycled. All used computer equipment is disposed of according to recycling guidelines. Treated effluent water is utilized on our facilities grassy areas, trees and planters.
Gyford Productions is a proud member of the United States Green Building Council.
